Here it is -- my first official blog post! I've been wanting to start a blog for months now. In fact, I was planning to chronicle my pregnancy with Emerson, but oh well. Good intentions, bad follow-through.
David and I are so happy with our lives right now. We have two beutiful, healthy girls. Our parents are still happy and healthy. We are close to our siblings and have an adorable little nephew. We want to capture and remember this time, but let's face it, I'm just not the scrapbooking type. So this blog will serve as a record of our life. I hope Abby and Emmy will enjoy reading these posts and learn from them. Mostly, I hope they'll know how much they are loved.
So here's what's happening in our lives right now. Today Emmy turns 7 weeks, and she has the most adorable chubby cheeks. She really is such a sweet little baby. Abby has amazed us from day one of bringing Emmy home. I was worried she would be jealous since she has been the center of our lives for the better part of three years, but instead she has just risen to the occasion. She loves Emmy to pieces and just wants to kiss and hug her all day. I'm so proud of her. What a sweetie pie. We must be doing something right!

I'm not the scrapbooking type, so this blog will chronicle life in the Dykes household. It will be a place for us to record funny moments, milestones, and all the other daily happenings that we may otherwise forget over time. We also hope this will help keep us close to friends and family who live far away. The title is a combination of our favorite nicknames for the girls.
